The following is the first of a series, the unique passion and hobby, besides football that players who win the Women's Professional Soccer. The League is a smorgasbord of talent and personalities in the field: some quiet, others omitted. Some are quick to attack others stand in line and technologically advanced. But what makes the WPS are unique in their athletes off-the-field trends and lifestyles, hobbies and passions.
Washington Freedom Defender Christians Karniski perhaps not the most popular players on the list, sprinkled with international talent, but their access and friendly nature makes them very easy to learn.
A product of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, Karniski played for the freedom of the W-League club before signing with the full team last year. As a Midwesterner, she is the image of the "Girls Next Door" talk easily, and very friendly.
Currently, a free agent, Karniski passion for football is evident in conversation with her.
There is another part of her life that tends to put into conversation. As so often happens with most people who talk about something that they love, when the subject of books with Karniski come into play, it is difficult to keep their discussion.
Lauren Salter: Would you for a "bookworm?"
Christians Karniski: Definitely. I'm pretty much always reading in my spare time.
LS: How did you feel so in reading?
CK: I think because my mother was a bookworm. She reads all the time. My father had to fetch and read books to us. He read the Lord of the Rings, my sisters and me My parents are so into the books rubbed off on us.
LS: How does your twin sister, Natasha, enjoys reading as much as you?
CK: Yes, it does. She reads all the time. We all read the same books.
BS: What color is your favorite childhood book?
CK: That's a tough one. I used to always read the pound horse named The Saddle Club.
LS: Me too!
CK: I loved these books! Ronald Dahl is great. Horrible Harry and the whatsit either. My father would not all the voices for the characters.
CB: In your off-the-box questions and answers for freedom, you said, one of three things that had been if you had traveled a book. Did you bring it?
CK: Depending on how thick the book! If there is fat, I guess only. Normally, I remain a back-up book in a bag for the airplane. So I have a backup just in case.
NS: Have you ever even write a book?
CK: Yes. I think it would be fun to write a book for children or for a young teenage kind of age. These are the books that I remember. A Wrinkle in Time kind of book would be nice to write.
NS: I have not read A Wrinkle in Time.
CK: Oh, you must be. It's awesome!
LS: If you do not play professional football, you said you would be in publishing. What do you say that?
CK: I love the idea of reading the works of man. I worked in a publishing agency and it was interesting, even reading the slush pile, to send the manuscripts people. It would be really cool having those ideas and turn them into a book that others can read.
LS: What are you up for a major in English at the University of Illinois?
CK: I was undecided, and waited until the last minute to decide. I loved so many different things. I decided to because I love the reading side of things and looking through books to catch different things. I like the analysis and writing essays and so on. The professors were so good about pointing out of things that I never thought to think about.
LS: What did you think of majoring in?
CK: Atmospheric Sciences, which is a little different. (Laughs) The weather really interests me.
LS: So you could have been a weatherman?
CK: create more behind the scenes stuff. Research.
LS: On the topic a bit, as it was always with a twin sister?
CK: It was tough in terms of athletics, but it was fun that way. We would play in the yard and play up a comparison. We almost never made it through a game without fighting each other. But then we would have to be done, and we are again the best of friends.
LS: Where did Natasha play on the field?
CK: She played the whole body. In college, she played center, then send out again, then. It is one of the players who can play anywhere.
LS: And you've stuck with the defense of your life?
CK: Well, teams always need a back left so it's always stayed with me's. Once in a while I played center in the school and sometimes us back during the games, but most of the time it is outside.
LS: What is the strangest question you have about being a twin has become?
CK: We have people who ask us to get things like "if it is injured, do you feel it too?"
LS: And you?
CK: I've never had before. (laughs) But my best friends at school were fraternal twins, a boy and a girl. People would ask if they are identical. It's like we think this through a first!
LS: So, now I have a few quick shots for you. Ready?
CK: I'm ready.
LS: What is your favorite book of all time is?
CK: "Pride and Prejudice. I have read that one several times.
LS: Genre favorite book?
CK: Any type of fiction.
LS: Favorite author?
CK: Charles Dickens.
LS: Favorite Dickens book?
CK: David Copperfield. Or, Our Mutual Friend.
LS: Favorite film adaptation of a book?
CK: Actually, The Lord of the Rings.
BS: What do you like better: Harry Potter or Twilight?
CK: (laughs) Harry Potter.
NS: Do you have the book Twilight?
CK: I have. My sister had the books. I read them to see what was the excitement.
(LS: When you read the article Karniski corrected me that it was her host sister in Germantown, MD had the Twilight pounds. Karniski Said: "I'm not sure my two sisters caught dead owner of the Twilight series." The makes sense to see how similar is their taste in pounds with her twin sister.)
LS: Starbucks or The Coffee Bean?
CK: I do not know what The Coffee Bean. I like Starbucks, but I do not love it. I like Caribou Coffee.
LS: Baskin Robbins and Cold Stone?
CK: Cold Stone
LS: chocolate or vanilla?
CK: Chocolate
NS: And finally … why the No. 24 [on freedom]?
CK: I've always been No. 4 But four years old was made for freedom. 2 Natashia was the No. 4 in school and was so kind 24.Im worked in 2005, "four hundred thirty-six" serious adverse event reports related to Botox, Allergan had been reported, the maker of Botox. Two hundred of these cases were reported possibly or probably due to the distant spread of the toxin, including 42 cases after wrinkles. Also in 2005, had Allergan with the FDA that it had identified 38 patients – 20 children, most of them with cerebral palsy, and 18 adults – who had suffered seizures after Botox injections haben.Im May 2007, the European Regulators asked to add two more competitors, Allergan and toxin information to its product labels and doctors warn that the toxin could spread to similar causes botulism symptoms (dry mouth, difficulty swallowing, blurred or double vision, drooping eyelids, slurred speech and progressive muscle weakness). In July of that year, a confidential report by a consulting firm Allergan 207 patients showed clearly had health problems with the spread of the toxin is being developed including several deaths. One third of the reported cases occurred in people treated folds. The remainder was treated for muscle cramps, muscle spasticity and eye problems. Proportionally more problematic in children who received Botox hatten.Angesichts this statistic should be noted that Botox and Botox Cosmetic are extremely safe drugs when used properly by a qualified doctor. Problems occur if the medical literature, at times, completely wrong and if you give a manufacturer who is not ready, the actual number of adverse events. The precise and safe use of this poison is problematic when a doctor or injector expertise and knowledge has become questionable. Therefore, one must carefully wählen.Vor his doctor recently told the quality standards subcommittee of the American Academy of Neurology and the Practice Committee of the Child Neurology Society: "Botulinum toxin type A has been found that was generally safe in children with cerebral palsy . However, the Food and Drug Administration is currently isolated cases of general weakness, leading to bad results. "I do not think that words like" bad results ", it would be more correct, the word" death ". In fact, in Orange County, California, there is a trial currently underway at the death of a seven-year-old girl after she was treated with Botox – not for cosmetic purposes, but for cerebral palsy. While it is widely known that Botox spasticity of the leg and arm muscles in patients with cerebral palsy, the question must be answered is reduced is, "Is it safe?" How Allergan works to educate physicians on the use of this product for Cerebral Palsy, if it is not approved for this indication? Allergan, due to its extensive range of paid consultants, has a variety of courses they sponsor through CME (Continuing Medical Education) programs have been created are ordered. This is not far away from a selected medical community known. The FDA has apparently turned a blind eye to Allergan off-label promotion of this drug for a variety of Zwecken. In deposition for the study, said the attending physician (Dr. X), that it took two Allergan-sponsored symposia to learn how cerebral palsy with Botox treatment. In fact, Allergan has been known to pay the travel expenses of physicians to participate at such meetings. While the doctor is in this suit does not mention a neurologist, he was trained to use Botox in cerebral palsy by a pediatric neurologist. Would not you think that training of this kind is best for training other pediatric neurology left? He was taught at a dose of Botox in the treatment of children who actually maintain twice the maximum dosage. What makes no sense that although Allergan's sales representatives visited the doctor's office more than 50 times, maximum dosage was never discussed why the patient was hospitalized 10 times subjected to the difficulties in breathing Botox therapy. This is a known side effect that occurs with the distribution of botulism on the basis of toxin. Why did the doctor was not aware of this indicates that the toxin had spread? Was not that death as a complication could occur if you have serious problems with swallowing or breathing after treatment, what is even stranger is that according to Mitchell Brin, vice president of Allergan for Botox / Neurology has never been the company together the maximum dosage information with the doctors by a federal law banning the marketing of unapproved uses. What do you mean by maximum dose is even confusing. Some people look at the maximum dose in cerebral palsy to 400 units per visit. However, the child's weight, muscle mass, and acute nature of the disease change this dose. The idea of a maximum dose for a certain condition is different, in fact, and physicians should be aware that to understand any particular legislation, but the doctor has the poison, disease, and various factors that determine the treatment dose be used in a Patienten. Also Because, it seems, Allergan can teach doctors how to treat cerebral palsy with Botox, but not how to handle them safely? Moreover, there is literature that supports the use of low dose than high-dose toxin in the treatment of cerebral palsy. Dr. X was from this or the fact that well known in small quantities with precise injections, the best results? Perhaps he thought volume does not matter, because it is printed in a magazine, why there were last time so many reports of serious side effects and deaths associated with botulinum toxin, which apparently never bound to find their way into the public consciousness ? Of course, it could be the larger number of doctors with the toxin. But there is a much more serious question, the current medical literature on Botox should be viewed with caution, that many of the texts is far from correct. In addition, they have not realized or even ignored the dangers that accompany the use of this product shows, even in cosmetic Einstellungen.Das following example shows how doctors and pharmaceutical companies try to compromise the medical literature, the cornerstone of medicine: Before A few years lead to the consultant for Allergan (he was a foreign doctor and not even the license to the U.S. practice) was tried, a manuscript, the concept that the dilution of the agent supports matter made public, although it has long been known that large dilutions could lead to the vial of the toxin in the toxin reaches unintended migration and muscle areas. In addition, the FDA had found studies that problems with the dilutions of the largest sources of side effects with Botox were. A review of the submitted paper uncovered serious problems and conflicting data with charts, which suggested a worsening of wrinkle severity from baseline, subsided after the Botox. In addition, small sample size and adverse events in the higher dilution groups were noted. Given these concerns, the article for publication abgelehnt.Die authors of this article was presented again, the choice to change the data and the results that suggested waning remove wrinkles worsened after the toxin. I spoke with the editor of the magazine and to realize he promised that the problem with the authors address. Two years later, in a special issue of the journal, Dermatologic Surgery, a theme was sponsored by Allergan, this article will be published with the amended data and concluding that "the dilution used in the administration of Botox was not important." When I be brought to the attention of David Pyott, Allergan's chief executive, he explained that while she supported financially) the issue, and this foreign doctor who wrote the piece (the chief adviser and their aesthetic Tsar, they were nothing more than the revised Data not. tried in another article in the same issue of dermatologic surgery, these same foreign doctor who included my name on an article about the supposed safety of an injectable toxin type B. I demanded that my name be removed. I was then offered Soltace of 10,000 U.S. dollars, which produced the toxin (Myobloc) to include my name on this paper. This is supposedly the same amount they pay to the Hauptautor.Ich expressed my concern that this article was incomplete and not the actual toxicity of this agent, as in other studies were reported, including Japanese studies that have shown this toxin, a lot more toxic than originally thought. Had been in clinical use, the toxin known to cause the remote side effects such as dysphagia (inability) to swallow, if it is used in normal doses. My name was removed from the article, but the manufacturer refused to cover this important safety information. The article considered conclusion that this toxin as a safe and effective. The field of aesthetics is hard by these acts beschädigt.Meine voicing serious concerns and questions about the modification of data in peer-reviewed journals published raised did not go unnoticed. As a result of an attempt to inform the doctors about these issues, I was hired by two councils of the manufacturer and by the editors of three peer-reviewed publications (Dermatologic Surgery, the Journal of the American Society of Dermatology and the Archives of Dermatology). Interestingly William Coleman is changed, the literary editor for the entire episode was, now at the head of dermatology surgery. Furthermore, due to the power of Allergan and other companies, I am no longer invited to speak at any dermatology or plastic surgery meetings. Recently, allergen, a patient of mine in an advertising program used. My many years of patient was told that I could no longer be the treating physician. Is not that illegal? I have been unloaded from CME meetings, as well as by the use of an educational grant they had supplied to teach me to avoid courses. Finally, calls the Robert Grant, president of Allergan Medical, and told me that although I was the best pen in the world would no longer need my services werden.Nachdem the problems in Europe and Canada to read and to the tendency Allergan deliberately not revealed to serious side effects to Botox, the black box warning they received in 2009, the FDA confirmed me and I had the allegations against Allergan is accordingly BNet / money.com. While Allergan consultant, as well as the companies themselves have publicly denied any problems with the cosmetic use of Botox, recent data show that deaths occur können. In all these reasons and despite several letters to the FDA, I've never been on one or the FDA regarding the information I had submitted about one botulinum.toxin met. In that Allergan chief aesthetic czar, Alastair Carruthers, is a foreign national is not a license for the U.S. practice, I would have expected at least one answer, as he was injected, and Botox injections in the U.S. without a license in one state. I expected a reaction to the information I have in relation to a dilution of the toxin, but the authors felt that it did not matter to be preserved. Even if I had been with the authors changed their data has come to this conclusion, again I heard nichts.Während Thus, the FDA seemed to be forged literature and unlicensed doctors injecting Botox unselfish, the FDA has changed and there are now new leadership. It can still Hoffnung.Das following is something I hope never comes to be: Allergan, recently filed a complaint that the ban on off-label marketing of Botox violated his First Amendment rights to free speech. In such a significant part of their product 1.3 billion U.S. dollars annual revenue comes from off-label prescriptions to treat everything from migraines to juvenile cerebral palsy, they feel they have the right to sell it for that purpose. Remember that people have died from wrinkle treatment with this toxin. Do we want more children die, when it is used in cerebral palsy, to see? We do not abuse this drug, should we want a proper use. How can this happen if the investigation around the applications approved specifications, which are forged? Next week: Cosmeceuticals 2 – or where did all my vitamin D-Go?. For additional details to do with Articles in relation to deep wrinkle cream.
